Looking Back on 2012

As I sit here reflecting on all that I have accomplished this year I can honestly say I have far exceeded what I had planned for myself.  Honestly, I just wanted to take more pictures this year than I had done in 2011 and boy did I do that!  I never in a million years thought I would meet the people I met, travel to the places I have gone, while enjoying each working moment of it along the way.

I wrote and submitted an article to a national magazine and made full page in the Spring 2012 edition.  I love shooting the KIDS!  They are by far the funniest little creatures on the face of the earth.  I end my sessions with them thinking how much work they were and they leave thinking we are the best play mates ever.  Not to mention they love the treasure chest in the trunk of my car.  Hey, don't judge me....LOL kids work better when they have something to look forward to.  BTW there is a story behind that scar and her mom wanted to keep it.  I thought that was just great!

I stood witness to three love stories.  The first love story was a surprise vow renewal, the second love story was told in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and the third love story was for two of the sweetest most in love individuals I have had the pleasure of getting to know.

I captured a new life while still in her mothers womb, to being born and taking her first breathes of air,  to now a little girl preparing to soon take her first steps.

I told the story of several  seniors with so much personality that could not wait for the day they became part of the Graduating Class of 2012.  I captured two Sweet 16 birthday parties and laughed at how old but yet young these kids are at that age.  I shot a Love Shoot for a couple that had been married for six years that at the end of the shoot said I reminded them of the love they have for each other and why they got married in the first place.

I captured the love and respect that a family had for the Queen of the Family.  I have never seen someone so full of life at 90 but humbled to have been chosen by her family to capture that story.  I shot a 60th Wedding Anniversary for one of the cutest couples ever and yes I said 60th Anniversary.  I shot all these mentioned and a host more of families and children while still making time to capture the most important moments in my families and friends lives as well.

Pictures stand the test of time and will remain a constant reminder of what happened at some point or another in your life.  I feel blessed to have met the many people I have met this year.  I am  grateful to have seen the places I might not have otherwise seen.  And I am humbled to have captured so many life stories with my camera this year for you.  I am looking forward to the New Year and all the untold stories that are headed my way.  Be Blessed in 2013, don't take any day or person for granted, and take as many pictures of your friends, family, and loved ones as you can.  Because remember pictures are a reminder of what happened at some point or another in your life and you will be so happy to have them down the line.
